A MURDEROUS REGIME
Trump’s lies can be annoying and absurd -- like his obsession with windmills and Greenland -- but his biggest lies also take lives, many, many lives.
While he regularly rewrites history and predicts greatness, he is presently killing hundreds of thousands of people here and abroad when it comes to his policies on vaccines, USAID, FEMA, health/safety rules, climate change, chain-saw economics...and now of course -- war.
A documented tally of these staggering losses already dwarfs all the costs of organized crime in his country over the past century. And now we’re adding daily with his almost whimsical war of choice on the very weekend Iran was about to agree to a new Nuclear Deal!
To better understand what happens when a Democracy is kidnapped by a confederacy of war-mongers -- let’s listen to Trump from his last campaign and Hegseth yesterday.
These performances raise two questions: For Trump, it’s said that he doesn’t like to read, but has anyone told him what history has concluded about who’s responsible for the Gulf-of-Tonkin lie that sparked the Vietnam War?
Nor will relishing aloud how he killed Iranian leaders before they killed him, nor calling them lunatics, do much good because religious fanatics will then believe they’re in a war of extinction and never negotiate or surrender.
And for Hegseth: how many times did he see Robert Duvall in Apocalypse Now in order to so perfectly imitate his bloodthirsty swagger?
It’s really only a question of time before a well-armed and vengeful Iran inflicts more casualties on our troops so that Trump will have to decide which of two paths to travel: either send American troops into Iran as LBJ and Bush43 did In their quagmires...or decide to follow his standard off-ramp when failure becomes undeniable ...which is to quietly back down, memory hole the deaths,
Declare victory and stop...like when he finally pulled ICE out of Minneapolis.
As for all of us, the question is: what can we do about it now?
For starters, may I.: first, conscript you to again join me at the next No Kings Day n Saturday March 28th when ten million progressive patriots say stop Trump’s War...2 then donate not as planned to your favored candidates but bouble those donations since you can afford it & 3. be sure to vote in the Fall elections and bring five family and friends with you. ..because that’s what No Kings Day means.
Unfortunately, since we’re dealing with Fox weekend warriors, we’re not at the beginning of the end here – to paraphrase Churchill – but the end of the beginning when it comes to deaths from ideology, idiocracy, and vanity.
